Hummerchute Registrations

Category:Service Bulletins

“Dear Hummerchute owner,

As many of you will be aware, some Hummerchute owners are currently experiencing difficulties registering their aircraft with Recreational Aircraft Australia (RAAus).

It appears that this is due to internal processing issues within RAAus and in no way reflects the manufacturing integrity of the Hummerchute. In fact, RAAus have issued the Hummerchute with an official Aircraft Type Acceptance in April 2010  (see below).

This temporary hiccup may relate to you if your Hummerchute is due for registration in the near future.

We are currently working closely with both RAAus  and CASA to seek immediate resolution to this issue and we will inform you once we have any further information.

In the interim, please feel free to contact me if you have further questions or queries.

Yours sincerely,

Stephen Conte CEO

Aerochute Industries Pty Ltd.”

Aerochute at 4X4 show Melbourne

Category:Latest News

Aerochute International successfully attended the 4×4 camping and fishing show over the weekend of 25th August 2012.  There were thousands of people at the show and hundreds visited the Aerochute stand.  The main interest was in using the Aerochute for travelling around Australia and also for hunting/spotting from the air.  John Dunn gave a talk each day about how he and wife Lyn never travel without taking their Aerochute with them. There was an excellent response to John’s talk as everyone could see the advantage of seeing Australia from the air.  His video talk will be up here soon.  If this is what you are interested in call us and we will help your flying adventures come true.

Robyn Tarbit

I couldn’t delay my husband any longer to follow his dreams.  Only another year before he retires and he simply can’t wait the time out just flying his model aeroplane!  This was serious stuff so had to accompany him down to Werribee to check it out.  Went up for a flight with Steve and was amazed, this was what it was like when you dream as a child to be a bird and fly.  I really thought that I just maybe interested to accompany Graham on his flights.  Obviously next step was to book lessons for me as well so I could be an effective co-pilot knowing how positively useful I am when I am in the passenger seat of our car.

Had a jam packed week.  Steve has unbelievable patience, firm guidance, and to my amazement I was able to feel completely comfortable putting my total trust in him. (No mean feat as have always hated flying in small aircraft!)

My whole attitude has changed.  How mad is it that at 56 years of age and with no previous desire, I am now flying solo in our new Hummerchute, watching the weather, and rearranging my life  so that we can both live a dream……

Fred Cenko.

I currently have 10 hrs of flying time as a student pilot with Stephen Conte.  I thoughly recommend Steve and his Aerochutes and the training to anybody who is interested in taking up this fun sport.

A note on my first solo flight.

When setting up I was thinking gee this is fantastic. When I took off and had left ‘Mother Earth’ behind I thought gee what am I doing up here ! Then on looking down the feeling of freedom was nothing like I had ever had before.

The Aerochute is the most exciting form of doing something ‘free’ you’ll ever get. If you could grow feathers…you would be a bird!

My best experience ever!!!

Aerochute World Record Attempt 2011

Category:Latest News

Well we were planning to beat the World record flight this year which stood at 36 Aerochutes up at once.  All the usual planning and preparation went into the event.  Sending out invitations, arranging team leaders, grouping pilots by weight and experience etc.  There were 42 pilots booked in to fly so it looked as we could easily beat the record.  Now we just had to get good weather.  May is the usual time of the year when we plan this event as Autumn in Melbourne is mostly calm winds and sunny skies….damn this global warming, we are getting our wettest and windiest weather for for years!  We had planned for the 14th or 21st of May.  As the dates got closer the weather intensified and looked terrible.  We rang around for the 21st but were going to lose 8 or 9 people with other commitments.  So we crossed our fingers and hoped for the 14th.  On the Friday before when we made the calls to confirm everyone the wind was blowing and it was wet.  Not everyone was convinced that my weather guru had it right.  Even on the Saturday morning I had calls of pilots driving through rain to get to the Bermuda triangle of Melbourne- Werribee!

As it turned out the weather was perfect for flying, a bit overcast but light enough winds to fly safely and no rain.  Everyone was briefed for the flight, what groups they were in, where to take off and land, how to handle an emergency, how to do the fly past.  The sun started to rise and engines were started, 2011 World record attempt had begun.  Pilots were directed for take off and everyone was airborne in about 45 mins.  Each group of about 5 Aerochutes were in their holding patterns then the radio call was given to commence the fly past.  All the groups  joined up and fly past the field for memorable photos.

All the pilots are to be congratulated for their excellent flying skills and following directions.  After all Aerochutes were on the ground a group photo was taken, a debrief and a number count… Aerochutes in the air….36!  We didn’t beat the record but we all had a great morning flying and a lot of fun.  2012 look out!

Until next time enjoy your time in the air and fly safe.
Stephen Conte.
